Three Ways to Bring Excellence to Your Life

Is your life of any consequence? Of course it is, but if you don’t strongly believe this truth then some corrections are in order. There is a song and part of the lyrics are "I’m the coach of every winning team, but still a loser in my mind." Do you ever feel the sting of loss and disappointment despite your wins? In some ways, although we try not to show it, we all suffer from loss and disappointment.

No matter. You are of consequence. So don’t fall into the trap of emptiness. That space between you and others where no one else can see. Continue on. Remain positive. Keep a smile on your face and in your heart and take charge of your life.

1. Recognize that there are valleys and mountains in life. The lush mountains are always above the dry, hot valleys. Although the valleys are sometimes long and deep, the mountain tops are always visible and when reached provide refreshment. Remember, you are either on the mountain top or on your way out of the valley.

2. Don’t spend unwarranted amounts of time wrestling with your own thoughts. No one is perfect. Forgive yourself of any past mistakes and move on.

3. Live in the present. The past is gone and the future is not here yet. Happiness, success and contentment can only be enjoyed in the present.
