A wacky June celebration.

Stupid Guy Things Day

Have you ever heard of Stupid Guy Things Day? Some might say that this June celebration is a bit odd, slightly weird, somewhat wacky or moderately unique. I never heard of Stupid Guy Things Day before writing this article, but right away I knew I had to find out more. Apparently someone thought enough (or maybe little) about guys to come up with this unique celebration. One problem, there isn't a whole lot of information floating around the web on Stupid Guy Things Day and I haven't actually met or heard of anyone that celebrates Stupid Guy Things Day. I did my best to put together the latest cutting edge information on this wacky day. I'm sure after reading this article, you'll probably want to start your own Stupid Guy Things Day family tradition. Happy Stupid Guy Things Day!

Stumbling Upon Stupid Guy Things Day

I was sitting around thinking about what on earth there is to do in June for fun. There are no legal holidays, so forget about getting a day off. Wait a minute, I thought, summer starts in June. Summer is definitely a fun time of year, but the start of summer is usually no big deal. How about Flag Day? Flag Day is in June. Flying the flag is patriotic, but no cook-outs and fireworks. Well, as I was surfing around the web for a meaningful June celebration, I stumbled upon "Stupid Guy Things Day". Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. As a matter of fact it sounds like a national treasure of a day. How can I get some of that action?

What is Stupid Guy Things Day

There doesn't seem to be too much information about Stupid Guy Day. The celebration appears to be an opportunity for women to make various lists of the "stupid" or irritating things that guys do. What? Huh? There has to be more to Stupid Guy Things Day than just making lists of complaints. (Gasp %u2026 or maybe I'm a stupid guy and I just don't get it.) I had a lot of questions about this Stupid Guy Things Day like: Can men make lists of irritating things other guys do to them? Where are the lists read? Is it traditional to name the offenders in a public list or is this a private affair? Then I was thinking, hey this holiday sounds a little like Festivus.

Festivus and Stupid Guy Things Day

You remember Festivus right? Festivus was introduced on the Seinfeld show. According to the character Kramer, Festivus is a time to "air grievances". The airing of grievances is an opportunity to tell others how they have been disappointing in the past year. The airing of grievances is followed by a Festivus dinner, and then after dinner comes the "feats of strength". During the feats of strength the head of the household must be pinned in a wrestling match. Hmmm. The "airing of grievances" sounds a little like the list women are suppose to make on Stupid Guy Things Day. But, Stupid Guy Things Day doesn't have anything else to it except for the preparation of a list about stupid things guys do.

Stupid Guy Things Day Traditions

Following the Festivus theme, let's add a little structure to Stupid Guy Day. First, let's agree that guys should have a role in this special day. So I propose that from Father's Day until Stupid Guy Things Day eve, guys should do as many stupid guy things as possible. This is only practical as the women making lists for Stupid Guy Things Day will need material for their lists. Second, the period between Father's Day and Stupid Guy Day Thing eve will be called "The Days of Galloping". Third, guys get to feed their kids (or if they don't have any kids, then local neighborhood children) candy and dessert for dinner. No protein or anything with nutritional value for dinner, just empty calories. (This is called "The Gummy Dinner".) Fourth, right after The Gummy Dinner, all lists of complaints are set afire or shredded (whichever is safer) and forgotten. (This is referred to as "The Good Guy Again Ceremony".)

Must Know Info About Stupid Guy Things Days

Stupid Guy Things Day is celebrated on June 22nd, Father's Day on June 17th and June is International Men's Month. How fitting is that? Father's Day, Stupid Guy Things Day, and International Men's Day all in the same month. Wow. It's good to be a guy.

P.S. In case you're wondering, all Stupid Guy Things lists are private. Lists made public must not identify any guy by name. Men can't make lists about other men. Only women can make the lists of complaints. The list, as long as it doesn't identify any guy, may be read and published anywhere. Wait you say your not into Stupid Guy Things Day. You're in luck. The 22nd of June is also National Chocolate Éclair Day.

P.P.S. If you're a woman, leave a comment about what you're going to include on your Stupid Guy Things Day list this year. If you're a guy lets us know what stupid things you'll be doing (or do year round.)
