Don’t succumb to fear

Read the headlines. Real estate is slumping, stocks are falling, people are getting laid off. Sure we face challenges, but what good does it do to live in fear? First, if you must listen to the doom and gloom being purveyed read it carefully. For instance a recent headline reads: “The slump persists: Home sales tumble across US.” Yet, the very end of the article reads: I think we are very near to the end of the housing downturn.

Fear is a powerful tool. Not much more than a year ago the stock market and the real estate market were doing fine. Obviously the stock market and the real estate market are not fine now, but both will be at some point in the future. Ignore the pangs of doubt and fear and make a decision live with some abandon.
